Hello out there. I am a Veteran and here is my prayer.
Help me to remember what is was like before I was there.
Help me to remember what made me want to care.
Help me to understand why I went.
Help me to know my time was well spent.
Help me to see the reason I lived.
Help me to love, never forget, and forgive.
Help me to stand on my own two feet.
Help me to find this new life I seek.
At Arbor Health our mission is provide avenues for men to have a better life. A life where they can receive support, guidance, and dignity. So many times people suffer with things the general population does not understand but dignity is something we all want and need.
By partnering with Arbor Health you are doing more than being an active part of your community because you are helping to provide dignity.
You are changing lives.
You are providing a shelter instead of living in the elements. You are providing a place for someone to sleep at night in the security of their own room and in their own bed.
You are providing three stable meals everyday.
You are proving therapy, activities, and community to someone that was lost and alone.
Helping a homeless person is more than getting them off the streets. It is recognizing they are still human. It's showing someone they are not forgotten. It is reminding someone they are still a person.
We battle the invisible. Mental Health Disorders.
We specialize in helping people that want to help themselves out of the life they had been living on the street. Becoming a resident of Arbor Health is a voluntary action. The resident has to want to be here. They have to want help.
Each resident is provided an individual plan to help them reach a place where they no longer need to be a resident of Arbor Health. They will be able to enter back into the community life that so many of us live in everyday.
So, please ask yourself a simple question.
How can you help us make the world a better place?
Can you spread the word so that your friends and family know what we are doing?
Would you like to volunteer on a work day?
Would your business like to offer an activity for our residents?
Could you donate gently used linens, men's work pants, or shoes?
Would you like to come by for a tour of the facility?
Leave a comment, send an e-mail to Jon Hiltz(our facility administrator), LIKE us on Facebook- ArborHealthmgmt, or follow us on Twitter@ArborHealthSTL. We would love to hear from you!
Please share our information to your friends and family. One of them might really want to help us provide dignity.
